General Info
We are based in Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Sumner is a sleepy seaside suburb of Christchurch, the South Islands largest city (Popn. approx. 380,000)
Sumner is just twenty minutes drive from the centre of town and is serviced by public transport.(No. 3 Bus)
Sumner offers accommodation for all budgets. There are several good bars, cafes, and restaurants. There is also a supermarket, post office, bank and movie theatre.
Surf Beaches
Most lessons occur at Scarborough Beach, Sumners main beach. The waves are gentle rolling surf ideally suited to beginners and malibu surfing.
If condition are not suitable at Scarborough then we have the option of moving to either Sumner Beach or Taylors Mistake Bay.
Taylors Mistake Bay is Christchurchs' best surf beach, providing steep powerful waves for Intermediate to Advanced Surfers.
Meeting Place
Lessons are by appointment. We meet at the corner of Stoke St and Esplanade, Sumner, Christchurch. Look for Aaron and the 'Learn to Surf' vehicle.
There is only one main route to Sumner from Christchurch and is well sign posted. If traveling by bus take the No. 3 Bus to Sumner, get off at the Stoke St stop in Sumner and walk 200 metres to the beach. Look for Aaron and the 'Learn to Surf ' vehicle.
